On Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1, the 39th Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival, organized by the Cupertino-Toyakawa Sister Cities (CTSC) organization, was held in Memorial Park. Consul General Kawamura attended and spoke at the opening ceremony on April 30.
 
In his remarks, Consul General Kawamura thanked CTSC for organizing its first in-person festival since 2019, and emphasized the importance of sister city relationships in promoting peace and friendship.
 
The Japan Information and Cultural Center also staffed a booth on both days of the festival, providing information on Japanese culture, studying in Japan, and the JET Program.
