2022 Ikebana International SF Bay Area Flower Show & Consul General’s Commendation

On May 21 and 22, the Ikebana International San Francisco Bay Area Chapter held their biennial Flower Show at the County Fair Building in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. The exhibition featured over 80 arrangements representing nine different schools of ikebana active in the San Francisco Bay Area.
At the opening ceremony on Saturday, May 21, the Consul General’s wife, Mrs. Kawamura, who serves as Honorary President for the chapter attended and gave remarks. Ms. Ishii, Advisor for Cultural and Educational Affairs, delivered remarks on behalf of Consul General Kawamura applauding the chapter for safely continuing to share ikebana and Japanese culture by way of online programs throughout the pandemic. For their leadership in these activities, and for having served numerous roles in the chapter, including twice each as president, Chapter President Ms. Sharon Krawetz and immediate Past President Mr. Ron Brown were presented with the Consul General’s Commendation.
