Remarks by Deputy Consul General Kishimori
Over 170 participants attended the event
On Sunday, May 22, the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (JCCCNC) hosted its annual Clean-Up Day at the Japanese Cemetery in Colma, California. JCCCNC began this annual event in 2010 as a way to honor and remember those who have passed on, and bring the community together. The Japanese Benevolent Society of California (Jikeikai) has managed the Japanese Cemetery since 1901.

Deputy Consul General Kishimori and 19 Consulate staff and family members participated in the event. In total, about 170 community members from ages 4 to 93 worked together for over two hours to clean the grounds.
