On Thursday, June 9, the conferment ceremony for Dr. Satsuki Ina, Professor Emeritus at California State University, Sacramento, recipient of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation, was held at the Consul General’s official residence. Deputy Consul General Kishimori hosted the ceremony on behalf of Consul General Kawamura.
This award was originally announced in August 2021 in recognition of Dr. Ina’s achievements in trauma treatment and research on the incarceration of Japanese Americans, and promoting mutual understanding between Japan and the United States by producing documentary films on the incarceration.
