On Thursday, June 23, Deputy Consul General Kishimori gave remarks at the launch party for KOHO, a new initiative of the Japantown Task Force (JTF), held in San Francisco Japantown’s East Mall. In his remarks, Deputy Consul Genral Kishimori said that the arts and culture will uplift Japantown and attract new audiences and business to fuel further economic recovery.

The initiative was created out of a community desire to attract the next generation of Nikkei (Japanese descended) creators and artists, and aims to build bridges between Japanese and Nikkei cultures by blending Japantown's long-standing traditions with innovative and fresh perspectives of modern Japanese and Nikkei culture, as well as to stimulate economic revitalization in Japantown.
