2022/7/15

On Monday, July 11, the KIOKE Shoyu Export Facilitation Consortium held a special tasting event at The Spinnaker in Sausalito. Acting Consul General Kishimori attended the event and delivered opening remarks.
In his comments, he expressed his hope that soy sauce, vinegar, and miso, which are part of Japan's traditional food culture, could be combined with various cuisines in the U.S. to create new and exciting combinations.
The event featured Japanese soy sauce companies Yugeta Shoyu, Isegura, and Nitto Jozo, which promoted the traditional production methods, history, and flavor of soy sauce made in wooden barrels. Chefs from MADCAP, The Spinnaker, and Sushi-Ran also participated in the event, serving dishes made with KIOKE Shoyu and Miso to attendees.
In addition, samples from Japanese beverage companies Ozeki Sake (U.S.A.) Inc., ITO EN (North America) Inc., Sapporo USA Inc., Suntory America Inc., and CHOYA UMESHU USA Inc. were distributed at the event to pair with the rich umami flavors of KIOKE Shoyu.
