On Saturday, August 20, the Japanese American Museum of San Jose (JAMsj), with the support of the Consulate General of Japan and others, held an in-person Sake-tasting event. Acting Consul General Kishimori, visiting Japanese Councillor Iwao Horii, and CA Assemblymember Ash Kalra gave remarks during the program.

Attendees experienced a selection of Sake from four companies (Sake Trend, Ozeki Sake U.S.A., Omurasaki Beverage Company, and Takara Sake USA) alongside food provided by local San Jose Japantown restaurants. Guests also learned about the history of San Jose Japantown and the museum’s historic Kawakami House.
 
Proceeds from the event will go towards the ongoing restoration of the Kawakami House.
