Exhibit - Neo-Nostalgia: Anime-Inspired Illustrations of Daily Life

2022/8/30
The Japan Information and Cultural Center at the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco is proud to present “Neo-Nostalgia: Anime-Inspired Illustrations of Daily Life” featuring the artwork of Harumi Kubo, a Japanese artist living in San Francisco.

Kubo’s cinematic and anime-like digital illustrations capture scenes of daily life like snapshots, set to the backdrop of a calm city corner or a rural Japanese seaside town. The artist portrays a view that of present-day Japan that resonates in the hearts of the audience. We hope you will be able to visit our gallery and view this exhibit.
