Foreign Minister’s Commendation Conferment Ceremony for Mr. Stephen T. Quigley, Jr.

On Friday, September 30, Consul General Noguchi hosted the conferment ceremony for Mr. Stephen T. Quigley, Jr., President of the Sister Cities International Foundation, recipient of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation, at the Consul General’s official residence.
Mr. Quigley has led Sister Cities International as a former President and Vice President and current President Emeritus, and has made significant contributions to the development of sister city relations and the promotion of understanding between Japan and the United States. In San Jose, he made a major contribution to the revival of the sister city relationship with Okayama City, supporting the longstanding grassroots exchange between the two cities. For these achievements, he received this award in December of 2020.
