Building a Green Sustainable Society through California-Japan Collaboration
On Thursday, October 20, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco and the Japan Society of Northern California will host a special program to explore how Japanese companies and Silicon Valley start-ups are partnering to develop technologies and build new businesses that focus on reducing carbon emissions and meeting global climate change goals.

Background: In March of this year, Japanese Ambassador Koji Tomita and California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on behalf of Japan and California. It outlines areas of cooperation to strengthen efforts to combat climate change.
