The Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco partnered with the California Film Institute (CFI) for two screenings of the Japanese film PLAN 75 at the 45th Mill Valley Film Festival (MVFF) on Friday, October 14 at the Smith Rafael Film Center and Saturday, October 15 at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive.
Deputy Consul General Kishimori attended the first screening on Friday, October 14, and gave remarks. This was the United States premiere of the feature-length directorial debut by director Chie Hayakawa.
PLAN 75 has been selected as Japan’s official entry for Best International Feature Film to the 95th Academy Awards, to be held in 2023.
