Specialty foods from Oshu
On Friday, October 21, Consul General Noguchi attended a reception at the Japan Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (JCCCNC) to celebrate the collaboration between Japantenna and Oshu City, Iwate and gave remarks.
In addition to representatives from the food and beverage industry and the media, the reception was attended by representatives from the Consulates General of Austria, Indonesia, the Philippines, Korea, and Singapore.
Guests sampled specialties from Oshu City, such as wagyu beef and rice prepared by Consul General’s Chef Matsuda. Guests also enjoyed a presentation about Oshu City given by Mayor Jun Kuranari and performance by jazz pianist and Oshu native Masayoshi Goto.
