The 13th Aki Matsuri and Sake Pavilion in Nevada
2022/10/25

On Saturday, October 22, the 13th Aki Matsuri (Fall Festival) of Nevada was held at Water Street Plaza in Henderson. Consul General Noguchi attended the event on his first official visit to Nevada and spoke at the opening ceremony along with Senator Jacky Rosen, Congresswoman Dina Titus, and others.
As part of the festival, the Consulate, in partnership with the Japanese Festival Association of Nevada (JFAN), helped organize the Sake Pavilion. This year, a special cocktail reception highlighting Shochu and Okinawan Awamori was held prior to the main tasting. Attendees over 21 enjoyed sampling a variety of sake, shochu, awamori, and special cocktails with background information provided by onsite experts.
The festival featured Japanese cultural performances, demonstrations, displays, and food. The Consulate also staffed its information booth providing information and materials on Japanese culture, travel, education, and the JET Program.
