KAKEHASHI Project: Visit by Okinawa Prefectural Kaiho Senior High School

On Thursday, October 27, 20 students from Okinawa Prefectural Kaiho Senior High School visited the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco as a part of the Kakehashi ProjectOpens in new window, an exchange program to promote mutual understanding between Japan and the United States. Consul General Noguchi and Consul Kurokawa gave a presentation introducing the historic and economic relationships between Japan and Northern California and the role of the Consulate. The students will stay in Northern California for a week while deepening their understanding of history, economy, and culture through visits to local companies, San Jose Japantown, historical institutions, and holding exchanges with high school students.
