On Saturday, December 31, Consul General Noguchi attended and gave remarks at the 37th Annual Japanese End of Year Bell-Ringing Ceremony hosted by the Asian Art Museum. During this event, attendees had the chance to experience a Japanese year-end tradition locally by closing out the past year and ringing in the new. This was the first in-person holding of this event since 2019.
The event began with a Buddhist purification ritual and chanting by Reverend Gengo Akiba. Consul General Noguchi then rang the bell with Museum staff, followed by members of general public, wishing happiness for 2023.
