On Friday, February 10, Consul General Noguchi co-hosted a seminar and reception on traditional Japanese fermentation techniques with Global SF at his official residence for delegates of the "Japan Food Innovation Tour" scheduled to visit Japan in March.

At the seminar, Japanese KIOKE soy sauce and miso producers gave a presentation on their products and history, and Prime Roots, a Berkeley-based company that produces plant-based meat substitutes using fermentation technology, gave a presentation on Japanese food technology, its interest in the food business, and its technology.

During their trip, the delegation is scheduled to attend the food and beverage exhibition FOODEX JAPAN and will meet with people in the food industry to explore new food business possibilities between Japan and the Bay Area.
