On Monday, February 13, the Golden State Warriors held their first-ever Japanese Heritage Night at Chase Center in San Francisco against the Washington Wizards.

Consul General Noguchi joined the festivities in a pregame ceremony, greeting the audience in a video message and ringing the bell to welcome the players onto the court. During the halftime show, attendees were treated to a special collaboration featuring Japanese rock guitarist MIYAVI and San Jose’s Uzumaru Yosakoi dance team. Audience members included representatives and members from Northern California’s diverse Japanese and Japanese American community.

This game comes after the Warriors’ trip to Japan in September to participate in the NBA Japan Games 2022.
