National Day of Japan Flag Raising Ceremony at San Francisco City Hall

On Thursday, February 23, a flag-raising ceremony was held at San Francisco City Hall coinciding with the 63rd birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. Consul General Noguchi delivered remarks and raised Japan’s national flag, after which he received a proclamation from the Mayor of the City and County of San Francisco. The San Francisco City Chief of Protocol Maryam Muduroglu, and representatives from the San Francisco government and the Bay Area Japanese and Japanese American community attended the ceremony, celebrating the Emperor’s Birthday and the continued friendship between Japan and San Francisco.
