On Wednesday, March 1, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, in cooperation with the Japan Society of Northern California, hosted a seminar highlighting the traditional distilled liquor from Okinawa known as Awamori.
Attendees enjoyed to a presentation by Yuki Sakihara, one of the Awamori Queens of the 36th contest held by the Okinawa Awamori Distillers Association, and a cocktail demonstration by acclaimed mixologist Christian Suzuki-Orellana (Suzu).
Attendees sampled a variety of Awamori and discussed the nuances of the liquor uring the Q&A session.
