Foreign Minister’s Commendation Conferment Ceremony for Amb. C. Lawrence Greenwood, Jr.

On Friday, March 24, Consul General and Mrs. Noguchi hosted the conferment ceremony and reception at their official residence for Ambassador Charles Lawrence Greenwood, Jr., Chair of the Japan Society of Northern California's Board of Directors and recipient of the 2021 Foreign Minister’s Commendation.
Ambassador Greenwood was recognized for his dedication to enhancing the economic relationship between Japan and the United States. Ambassador Greenwood served in the United States State Department as a career diplomat, including two postings at the United States Embassy in Tokyo and as United States Ambassador to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), leading economic cooperation among the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan. Ambassador Greenwood served as President of the Japan Society of Northern California, significantly expanding JSNC’s activities resulting in an increase in Japan’s presence in the local area. For his achievements, he was awarded this commendation in August of 2021.
