On Friday, May 26, Consul General Noguchi attended a kickoff meeting at the Asian Art Museum for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2023 Economic Leaders’ Meeting to be held in San Francisco in November 2023.
Consul General Noguchi joined Mayor London Breed, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Asia-Pacific government representatives, San Francisco City officials, and local business leaders in celebrating the official start of the city’s preparations ahead of the APEC 2023 Economic Leaders’ Meeting where leaders of APEC’s 21 member economies will convene.
The Asia Pacific region is an integral part of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” and it is the world’s growth center. APEC members account for about 40% of the world’s population, about 50% of the world’s trade and about 60% of the world’s total GDP.
