                        On Saturday, June 10, the 35th Santa Cruz Japanese Cultural Fair was held in Santa Cruz’s Mission Plaza.
Consul General Noguchi gave remarks in the opening ceremony highlighting the importance of the cultural festival and grassroots exchanges like sister city programs for the Japan- California relationship. 
The festival featured a full day of Japanese cultural performances, exhibits, and activities for attendees, including aikido demonstrations and taiko performances. Santa Cruz has also shared an active sister city relationship with the city of Shingu in Wakayama Prefecture since 1974.
