Bon dancing
On Sunday, July 9, Consul General Noguchi attended the second day of the San Jose Obon Festival and gave remarks, thanking San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin for organizing the festival and sharing Japanese culture and traditions with Northern California.
Over 2,000 dancers participated in the obon dance throughout the weekend with many more watching. Attendees also enjoyed a variety of performances, including by San Jose Taiko and a number of collegiate taiko groups from across the state.
