Bell ringing Ceremony
On Sunday, August 6, Cupertino-Toyokawa Sister Cities held a bell-ringing ceremony in memory of the 78th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Consul General Noguchi attended and gave remarks, paying tribute to the victims of the bombings and expressing his hope for lasting peace around the world. He also noted that grassroots exchange is key to friendly and peaceful relations, highlighting recent commendations awarded to students at nearby Lynbrook and Cupertino High Schools for their dedication to learning Japanese, thus forming a bridge between Japan and the United States.
