On Saturday, October 21, the 14th Aki Matsuri (Fall Festival) of Nevada was held at Water Street Plaza in Henderson. Consul General Osumi attended the event on his first official visit to Nevada and spoke at the opening. The festival featured a wide variety of Japanese cultural performances, demonstrations, and activities, including taiko, dancing, and music.

As part of the festival, the Consulate, in partnership with the Japanese Festival Association of Nevada (JFAN), helped organize the Sake Pavilion. Attendees over 21 enjoyed sampling a variety of sake and other Japanese alcohols with background information provided by onsite experts.
