National Day of Japan Flag Raising Ceremony at San Francisco City Hall

 On Friday, February 23, a flag-raising ceremony was held at San Francisco City Hall coinciding with the 64th birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. Consul General Osumi delivered remarks and raised Japan’s national flag, after which he received a proclamation from the City and County of San Francisco. San Francisco’s Chief of Protocol Maryam Muduroglu, representatives from the San Francisco government, and members of the Bay Area Japanese and Japanese American community attended the ceremony, celebrating the Emperor’s Birthday and the continued friendship between Japan and San Francisco. In the evening, City Hall was illuminated in honor of Japan.
