Visit by High School Students from Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture

On Tuesday, March 12, 18 high school students from Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture, visited the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco as part of a week-long school exchange program with George Washington High School in San Francisco. The students learned about the consulate’s work and the connections between Japan and San Francisco. Consul General Osumi also joined to give the students some advice and encouragement.
Since 2016, high school students in Saijo City have deepened their ties with George Washington High School in San Francisco through pen pal programs and mutual visits. In addition to their exchange activities with George Washington, on this trip, the Saijo City students will engage in a wide range of local educational opportunities, including volunteering.
