2024 Kinmon Gakuen Year-End Ceremony

On Saturday, May 18, Consul General Osumi gave congratulatory remarks at Kinmon Gakuen’s 2024 year-end ceremony, attended by 40 students from first through twelfth grade.
In his speech, Consul General Osumi commended the students’ efforts in studying the Japanese language. He also expressed his gratitude to the school for offering Japanese language education for more than a century.
Kinmon Gakuen has provided Japanese language education in San Francisco Japantown since its establishment in 1911, and offers Japanese language classes on Saturday morning for students aged 5 to 18 years old.
Over the years, Kinmon Gakuen has evolved into a symbol of hope and strength for the surrounding community, including the Asian American Pacific Islander community. For their 100th Anniversary, the school was presented with the San Francisco APA Heritage Award.
