Explanation of Yosakoi
On Thursday, July 11, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, in partnership with the 2024 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, presented a special lunchtime performance featuring UZUMARU, a Yosakoi dance group based out of San Jose.
Following their performance, UZUMARU was presented with the Consul Generals Commendation by Acting Consul General Kishimori, for the group’s many activities promoting Japanese culture and Yosakoi throughout Northern California.
Visitors were also able to speak with staff at the Consulate’s information booth, which provided materials on visiting Japan, EXPO 2025, and the JET Program.
