The 2024 Japan-U.S. Innovation Awards Symposium

On Thursday, July 18, Consul General Osumi attended the Japan-US Innovation Awards at Stanford University, an event that honors outstanding companies and startups with connections to both the U.S. and Japan. The Consulate General of Japan helped sponsor this annual event co-organized by the Japan Society of Northern California (JSNC) and Stanford’s US-Asia Technology Management Center.
This year, US-based company Joby Aviation and Japan-based company ispace Inc. received the Emerging Leader Awards for their contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship in their fields. The Innovation Showcase also highlighted five Japanese startup companies (AI Medical Service, Citadel AI Inc., EdgeCortix, Helical Fusion Co., Ltd., and Synspective Inc.) that are developing groundbreaking technologies to meet modern challenges. Additionally, there were special presentations from Uber and NVIDIA.<br>
During the symposium, Consul General Osumi congratulated the winning startups and expressed his expectations for the further success of startups in the U.S. and Japan.
