2024 TOMODACHI Summer SoftBank Leadership Program 2.0 Graduation Ceremony

On Friday, August 16, Deputy Consul General Hajime Kishimori attended the TOMODACHI Summer SoftBank Leadership Program 2.0 Graduation Ceremony at UC Berkeley. 12 high school and college students from Iwate, Fukushima, and Miyagi Prefectures participated in the three-week program, staying with host families, joining leadership workshops, and taking courses at UC Berkeley. In his remarks during the ceremony, Deputy Consul General Kishimori commended the students on successfully engaging with the United States through the TOMODACHI program and expressed his hopes for their pursuits in the future.
The TOMODACHI Summer SoftBank Leadership Program 2.0 provides students who were living in prefectures at the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake the opportunity to learn about community contribution and leadership in the United States. It is coordinated by the U.S.-Japan Council and the SoftBank Group Corp.
