Japan Society of Northern California’s 38th Annual Award of Honor Gala

On Friday, September 27, Consul General Yo Osumi and his wife Misao attended the Japan Society of Northern California (JSNC)’s 38th Annual Award of Honor Gala at Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. The Award of Honor, given to individuals who have contributed to the promotion of U.S.-Japan relations, was presented this year to Koichiro Nakamura, founder and general partner of Sozo Ventures. In addition, the Peanuts franchise, celebrating its 75th anniversary, was presented with the Cultural Ambassador Award.
In his remarks, Consul General Osumi expressed his gratitude for the partnership with JSNC, which offers a wide range of programs, and stated that JSNC’s activities attract many people, which is essential to further developing Japan-U.S. relations and deepening ties between the people of both countries.
This year’s gala was hosted by JSNC President Steve Pollock, and gala co-chairs Nobuko Saito-Cleary and Rehito Hatayama.
