The 19th Annual Millbrae Japanese Culture Festival

On Sunday, October 6, the 19th Millbrae Japanese Culture Festival was held in Millbrae. Consul General Osumi joined the opening ceremony, along with Millbrae Mayor Anders Fung and California State Assemblymember Diane Papan. In his remarks, Consul General Osumi expressed the importance of grassroots events like the festival in fostering friendship between Japan and Northern California.
 
The festival featured Japanese cultural displays and performances including Japanese dance, yosakoi, and taiko drumming. Visitors to the Consulate’s information booth were able to learn about EXPO 2025 and take photos with official mascot character Myaku-Myaku, as well as get information on travel and study in Japan, and the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program.
