2025 JACL CCDC Day of Remembrance

On Saturday, February 8, the Japanese American Citizens League Central California District Council (JACL CCDC) held its Day of Remembrance event at the Fresno County Historical Museum. Deputy Consul General Takeshi Ishihara attended and gave remarks. Other speakers included Congressman Jim Costa and California State University, Fresno President Saul Jimenez-Sandoval. Following the event, Deputy Consul General and Mrs. Ishihara toured the Shinzen Friendship Garden.
The Day of Remembrance is held annually to remember the signing of Executive Order 9066, which resulted in the incarceration of 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry in the United States during World War II.
