The 41st Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival

On Saturday, April 26, Ms. Mayu Hagiwara, Consul and Director of the Japan Information and Cultural Center, spoke at the speakers’ ceremony for the 41st Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival, held in Cupertino’s Memorial Park. In her remarks, Director Hagiwara praised Cupertino-Toyokawa Sister Cities as an excellent example of grassroots exchange between Japan and California through their longstanding efforts with sister city Toyokawa in Aichi Prefecture. Also speaking at the opening ceremony were CTSC President Alysa Sakkas, California State Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens, Santa Clara County Supervisor Margaret Abe-Koga, Cupertino Mayor Liang Chao, and other dignitaries.
The 41st Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival, held Saturday April 26 and Sunday, April 27, featured a variety of Japanese cultural performances, displays, and activities. The proceeds of the festival go towards supporting CTSC’s annual student exchange program. The Consulate provided information on EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Kansai; Japanese Language Educational Resources, travel information, and the JET Program at its booth on Saturday.
