Consul General’s Commendation Presented to Sonoma County Matsuri Festival

Sonoma County Matsuri Festival President Bo Laurent accepts the Consul General’s Commendation on behalf of the organization
On Sunday, May 18, the 2025 Sonoma County MATSURI Japanese Art Festival was held in Santa Rosa’s Juilliard Park by Sonoma County Matsuri Festival. During the opening ceremony, Consul General Yo Osumi praised grassroots activities connecting Japan and Sonoma County, and presented the Consul General’s Commendation to Sonoma County Matsuri Festival.

The Sonoma County MATSURI is a daylong event featuring Japanese cultural performances, demonstrations, and displays, and food and booths by local community organizations and businesses.

The Consulate also held an information booth, providing information on EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Kansai; educational and travel information; and the Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Program.
