On Tuesday, June 3, Consul and Director of the Japan Information and Cultural Center Mayu Hagiwara gave congratulatory remarks at the Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program (JBBP) Graduation Ceremony at Clarendon Alternative Elementary School in San Francisco.
 
Consul Hagiwara commended the graduating students for their achievements and expressed her hope that the students continue their Japanese studies. She also conveyed her appreciation for the JBBP teachers, staff and community for their devoted efforts to teach Japanese language and culture to their students.
 
San Francisco’s JBBP began in 1973 with an original goal of preserving Japanese language and cultural education for the city’s Japanese American community and has since evolved to serve a diverse student body reflective of the current community.
