The Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco is seeking an individual to assist with duties at the Official Residence of the Consul General of Japan in San Francisco. Projected employment start date is September 5, 2025.
 

1. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Staff at the Official Residence.
  • Conduct daily tasks in coordination with the Consulate Office
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Office in order to properly maintain the Residence
  • Cleaning designated areas and tending to specific tasks to support the operations of the Residence
  • Event preparation, including food and drink service when required
  • Other tasks assigned by the Consulate General as deemed necessary

2. Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Superior multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with coworkers and community
  • Hospitality or restaurant experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams
  • Native or near-native level English language ability
  • Japanese language ability is preferred
  • Applicants must possess either American Citizenship, a Green Card, or other form of work authorization in the United States.

3. Working Conditions:

  • Employment is projected to start on September 5, 2025
  • Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. Working weekends or past 5pm may be requested of staff by the office when necessary
  • Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays defined by the Consulate are nonworking days
  • Paid vacation, sick leave and optional health insurance support are provided after the completion of a three-month probationary period.
  • Starting salary will be roughly 50,000 USD. Yearly raise for inflation and strong work performance.
