Video message from former Prime Minister Kishida
On Friday, October 24, Consul General Kotaro Otsuki joined the 39th Annual Award of Honor Gala and the 120th Anniversary of the Japan Society of Northern California, where he delivered a greeting and a toast.
 
Consul General Otsuki praised the Society's contribution to Japan-California exchanges over 120 years, expressed gratitude for the Society's efforts in connecting people and deepening relationship between Japan and California through various programs, and congratulated this year’s awardees.
 
Among the recipients, Former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida received the Award of Honor. In a video message, the former Prime Minister expressed his gratitude, stating that it is an honor to receive this award in the year 2025, marking 80 years since the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings, since the realization of a world without nuclear weapons has been his life’s work.
 
This year’s Gala was hosted by JSNC President Steve Pollock, and gala co-chairs including Board of Directors Executive Committee Member Mr. Ray Hatoyama.
