Consul General’s Commendation Awarded to Omotesenke Domonkai Northern California Region at Hatsugama Chakai

On Sunday, January 11, Omotesenke Domonkai Northern California Region hosted its annual “Hatsugama Chakai” or first tea gathering of the new year, at the tearoom inside the Hokka Nichi Bei Kaikan in San Francisco Japantown. Consul General Kotaro Otsuki joined the event and presented Omotesenke Domonkai Northern California Region with the Consul General’s Commendation for its efforts in promoting friendship between Japan and California through its activities with tea, offering opportunities to learn about Japanese traditions. Omotesenke Domonkai Northern California Region President Shinichi Seino accepted the award on behalf of the organization.
