On February 17th, Deputy Consul General Takeshi Ishihara visited Fresno, and together with Honorary Consul Joy Goto, exchanged views with President Saul Jimenez-Sandoval and other officials from California State University, Fresno to strengthen cooperation with Japan. On the same day, Deputy Consul General Ishihara attended and delivered a speech at the Day of Remembrance event held by the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) Central California District Council to commemorate the incarceration of people of Japanese ancestry in 1942.

The Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco values its friendship with the people of Fresno and will continue to work toward strengthening the cooperative relationship between Japan and Fresno.
