Ms. Dowley accepts the Foreign Minister’s Commendation on behalf of IISF
Remarks by Consul General and Ms. Dowley
On Saturday, March 21, Consul General Kotaro Otsuki joined the opening ceremony of the Ikebana International San Francisco Bay Area Chapter’s biennial Flower Show at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and presented the chapter with the 2025 Foreign Minister’s Commendation. The chapter was recognized for its efforts to promote Ikebana and Japanese culture through its activities, strengthening understanding and friendship between Japan and the United States. Current chapter President Ms. Nora Dowley accepted on behalf of the chapter.
Following the ceremony, Consul General toured the flower show which featured over 90 arrangements by practitioners of eight different schools, on display Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22.
