Consul General Otsuki gives remarks

On Saturday, April 25, Consul General Kotaro Otsuki, spoke at the opening ceremony for the 42nd Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival, held in Cupertino’s Memorial Park. In his remarks, Consul General Otsuki praised Cupertino-Toyokawa Sister Cities (CTSC) for its achievements as a grassroots organization connecting Japan and California. Also speaking at the opening ceremony were CTSC President Alysa Sakkas, California State Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens, Santa Clara County Supervisor Margaret Abe-Koga, Cupertino Mayor Kitty Moore, and other dignitaries.
The 42nd Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival, held Saturday April 25 and Sunday, April 26, featured a variety of Japanese cultural performances, displays, and activities. The proceeds of the festival go towards supporting CTSC’s annual student exchange program. The Consulate provided a Japanese language spring vocabulary writing activity, information on Japanese language educational resources, travel information, the JET Program and studying in Japan at its booth on Saturday.
