On Thursday, May 7, Consul General Kotaro Otsuki attended a reception celebrating the one-year anniversary of the San Francisco Bay Area office of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, a Japanese law firm, which specializes in corporate and commercial law. The event began with opening remarks from Mr. Gaku Ishiwata, Managing Partner at Mori Hamada, followed by remarks from Consul General Otsuki, who congratulated the firm on their anniversary and said he looked forward to their continued support of Japanese companies and startups in the Bay Area.
Prior to the reception, a panel discussion on “Bridging Silicon Valley and Asia” featured representatives from Mori Hamada offices in Japan, Southeast Asia, and the United States. Throughout the event, representatives from local Bay Area companies networked with lawyers from the firm’s New York, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia offices.
