Physical AI Center Tour
On Thursday, May 21, Consul General Kotaro Otsuki attended the grand opening ceremony for Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ Physical AI Center in San Jose, a new hub for robotics R&D and collaboration with Nvidia, Microsoft, Fujitsu and other leading tech innovators. The event began with opening remarks from Kawasaki Heavy Industries CEO Yasuhiko Hashimoto, followed by a presentation on the company’s latest developments in robotics.
There were also presentations by special guests, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang via video message, CVP of Manufacturing and Mobility at Microsoft Dayan Rodriguez, Fujitsu CEO Takahito Tokita, and Professor Jacques Marescaux, founder of IRCAD, a robotic surgery research and training institute. Following the presentations, guests toured the facility and saw several demonstrations of the latest in Kawasaki’s robotics technologies. Finally, guests networked at a reception for AI and robotics industry experts from Japan and the San Francisco Bay Area.
