Supporting International Business Ties in Las Vegas

On June 5, Consul Naoki Ando visited Las Vegas, Nevada, to support Japanese businesses in the area. The visit began at the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce (LVACC), followed by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where Consul Ando met with representatives from their Office of International Partnerships.  
 
Later that day, Consul Ando joined an internal kick-off event for the Japanese Business Circle of Nevada (JBCNV), a new chamber of commerce dedicated to strengthening Japanese business ties in the region. The event, hosted at Konami’s offices in Las Vegas, began with a presentation on the goals of the new organization and a tour of Konami’s factory. Afterwards, Honorary Consul of Japan in Las Vegas Kathleen Blakely gave remarks, followed by a presentation on the Consulate’s efforts to support Japan-Nevada business ties. JETRO Los Angeles also presented on the resources available to Japanese businesses expanding in Nevada.
 
The event ended with a reception where representatives from Japanese companies in Nevada networked and discussed future programming for this new chamber of commerce.
