On Wednesday, August 12, Consul General Kotaro Otsuki delivered opening remarks at “Scenes from the venue,” a gathering hosted by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Northern California (JCCNC) in cooperation with the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce (SFCC). The event brought together members of the community during San Francisco International Week, a celebration of the diverse cultures and both local and global businesses present in the City.
Consul General Otsuki highlighted Japan’s significant role as California’s largest source of foreign-owned enterprise employment, maintaining approximately 3,500 locations and creating 130,000 local jobs. Following his remarks, representatives of the JCCNC and SFCC introduced their organizations and annual activities, and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) gave a brief presentation on current government initiatives and startup policies to encourage further investment in Japan’s economy.
