Consul General Attends Japanese Flag Raising Ceremony in Daly City

On Monday, August 18, Consul General Kotaro Otsuki attended a flag raising ceremony at Daly City City Hall in honor of a visiting delegation from their sister city of Izumisano in Osaka Prefecture. The delegation is made up of city officials and a youth choir made up of 20 students between ages 10-19, who performed at the flag raising ceremony and are planning two other performances around Daly City. This is the first student exchange since establishing their sister city relationship in 2024.

In his remarks, Consul General Otsuki praised the new tradition of raising the Japanese flag annually in honor of the sister city relationship with Izumisano and emphasized the great impact these exchanges have on the future of young students’.
