Lecture on Cross-Cultural Understanding at Menlo High School

On Friday, January 9, Mr. Matthew Fuller gave a talk to the students and teachers of Menlo High School, a private high school in Atherton. Mr. Fuller has extensive experience working abroad including Japan and the Middle East. He is former participant of the JET program and also served as a special assistant to former U.S. ambassador to Japan, the Honorable John Roos.

With the theme, “Global Citizenship”, he spoke about the importance of understanding foreign language and culture based on his own experience to a Global Scholars Research Class for an hour. Then he gave a talk to all students of the school about the importance of studying foreign language including Japanese and how a boundless curiosity would expand one’s horizon.
