11th Annual Japanese Speech Contest in Southern Nevada

On March 7th, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco and the Southern Nevada Japanese Teachers' Association (President: Mr. Michael Lee) held the 11th Annual Japanese Speech Contest at Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas.

A total of 31 contestants participated this year and each contestant ably demonstrated their knowledge and proficiency of the Japanese language. From the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, Deputy Consul General Watanabe attended the contest as a judge. Honorary Consul General Kathleen Blakely and former Honorary Consul General Wayne Tanaka also participated in the event.
